WHO AM I?

Hey everyone. My name is Alexis. I hope you're doing well. Like most days, I'm better than I deserve today. Thank you for taking the time to read this. There are a few key things that are very important for everyone to know ALL THE TIME. But instead of saying them on every video, I'm consolidating them all here.

WHO AM I?... I am unapologetically a faithful believer, surrendered follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. I am a Child of God and a receiver of God's Holy Spirit. I'm a wife and a mother of two. And with all jokes aside and with all humility, I am a great cook, a spiritual lay pastor and coach, and I am an actual, licensed financial advisor.

What is this?

WHY HAVE I STARTED MAKING VIDEOS? And why are they about Food, Faith and Fortunes? Great question and I'm so glad you asked. The short answer is, this was a prompting that came from God's Holy Spirit. God has called me to evangelism, but I had no idea it would be in the form of social media. In a conversation once with Travis, the Economic Ninja, God used him to speak prophetic direction into my future, insisting I start a channel. And that only happened because I was obedient when I felt God telling me to reach out to him.

The Foundation

The Foundation of these messages comes from Matthew 4:1-11. I was in a season of fasting and prayer. I kept feeling led to read Matthew 4:1-11. In summary, this is where Jesus is tempted in the wilderness by the enemy. He was tempted first with FOOD because scripture says He was hungry. He could turn those stones into something they weren't meant to be. Physical satisfaction that was only temporary. Next His FAITH was tested. His FAITH in God and His faithfulness to God. The enemy said throw Yourself down. You're “saved.” The Angels will hold You up. Then finally He was tempted with FORTUNE, power and grandeur. He could "have it all" if He would just accept it by turning to Satan in worship and allegiance.

During my time of fasting and prayer, I found myself in a situation where I had to resist the temptation to turn "stones into bread." To take something and turn it into something else it was not supposed to be. Temporary satisfaction. I had to say no, I’m not turning these stones into bread. Then, soon after, my faith was tested. A situation came up and I was tempted again with, "go ahead, dive in. You're "saved" right? Jesus will save you." At this point I recognized a pattern. I prayed through and said "no, I'm not throwing myself off this "ledge into sin." And then the third one came. And the temptation of fortune in the disguise of "you CAN have it all." But the idea of turning away from God broke my heart.

I knew everything I had or ever will have in life is provided by God. He will give me everything I'm supposed to have and “He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11. So I turned away from the lie. Afterwards when I was praying for discernment and understanding of why I had been tested in seemingly the same way as Jesus, there came the spiritual prompting to start streaming on social media and to call it Food, Faith and Fortunes. I could even see the artwork of the title in my mind. The best part is how we read in Romans 8:28 ...we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, and to those who are called according to His purpose.

My Foundation

Now watch this, this is really cool... God works all things together for His will and for our good. My entire life has led up to this point.

With FOOD... I started cooking as a pre-teen. My dad taught me how to make a fried egg when I was 10. After that he would come into the kitchen in the evenings and I would have a cookbook open trying to create something. My first job at 16 was in a mom and pop restaurant, cooking. For a good while I worked for a very well known Italian chain, having started as a prep cook. Then I became a line cook, then a culinary assistant and finally became a manager. I even had a little homemade meal service business for a bit. People have always asked me for my recipes and have said for a long time that I should write a cookbook or open a restaurant. I'm going to give you all my recipes and instructions for free, right here.

With FAITH... I was first called to ministry in 2006. Then further into ministry again in 2015. Then even further again in 2024. And I don't mean in a way where God kept asking me to serve in ministry but more like each time led to a different, deeper and larger growth experience in my faith, obedience and service to God. Each time was a calling to step further into ministry of some sort.

And with FORTUNES... I have been a licensed financial advisor since 2010, so as of the making of this video, right at 15 years. Before that, I also worked for one of the largest banks in the country as a personal banker for bank associates. I have helped people understand and use financial tools since the year 2000.

Each phase of my life has led me to this point and through the necessary experiences to be able to speak on all three of these topics, Food, Faith, and Fortunes. And that's how God works.

What to Expect

FOOD... I will prepare different dishes in real time in LIVE videos. You may see me burn the bread. 🤷 You'll definitely see me change the recipe, because people tell me it's impossible for me to follow a recipe. And it's true. You will see me tasting things with my fingers. You'll see me not wearing gloves. Yes, I have been “serve-safe” certified, but I'm making this for ME and my family to eat, not an audience. Let's keep it real. If you have a recipe to share or if you want to have me make your recipe in a video, let me know. If you have a recipe that needs to be "fixed," or it never comes out right, let me know. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.

FAITH... You'll hear me say, "I heard God say..." What that means is just like the prophet Jeremiah would say, "and the Word of the Lord came to me saying..." It means there is an unction, a knowing, a sense, a very strong gut feeling, a tugging, a leading, the still small voice, etc. If you have a question about God, about Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, let me know. If you want PRAYER over any of these areas, let me know. I will pray with you over your casserole. I will pray with you over your faith. This is for entertainment purposes only." That is a universal disclaimer people say to keep them from being sued for acting in a capacity they are not "legally" qualified to advise in. You will not hear me say that because I am a licensed financial advisor and I can give financial advice. I will share reports on current economic and geopolitical news and events that impact the financial sector. I will also answer questions from you, in layman's terms, so it's digestible and informative in a way that's easy to understand. If your faith is broken, He will fix it together with you. And the world of finance IS broken. I will tell you how it's broken and we will navigate it together.

If you ask a question in the comments, I WILL answer you. I will address your questions live on future videos. SO ASK. Your questions are welcomed, warranted, justified and always deserve answering.

I'm the kind of person myself who asks questions. I'm the one with my hand up saying, "I don't understand" or "why are we doing it this way?” I have a history of pursuing answers to my questions to the point where I'm "rocking the boat" and I've been told to stop asking questions. I have a history of not following the prescribed recipe/protocol when it's not the right thing to do and sometimes I get in trouble for it. I ask the questions most people feel too awkward to ask.

But be warned, I Will tell you the truth in all areas of food, faith and fortune, even when it's not something you want to hear. I will tell you when something is my own opinion as well. An "Alexisism", versus fact.

What is the Purpose of these Videos? Why are they Live?

The Purpose of these videos is "Edutainment". I credit that word to Dan Bongino. It's to educate you in these three areas, Food, Faith and Fortunes, while entertaining you at the same time. To share truth, knowledge, insight, and wisdom.

I’M 100% LIVE… The videos will always be live. The only time a video will be “edited” will be when I add a clip of the next phase or finished food item we're cooking. For example, if something needs 6 hours in the crockpot or something needs to be in the oven for an hour. I won’t have videos that long.

You'll see me make mistakes and just keep going. You might see someone walk through my kitchen, because I have a family. You'll definitely see dogs walk through and will occasionally hear them barking at some imminent threat in our yard.

There are two reasons the videos are live and not pre-recorded and edited.

Life is not edited. You don't get redos for real. How often do you feel unrelatable to people who make videos about these things, edit them to where they're flawless, and think to yourself, "Sure. That looks good or sounds good, but I can't do that." Well, YOU CAN! And in life, whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, EITHER WAY, you're right. You should write that down. That was a gold nugget, as Tiff Shuttlesworth says.
Doing everything live is the word that came to me when I first felt led to do videos. No editing. God doesn’t want me changing anything He does in real time. In the moment, He will speak whatever He wants to speak, and to whoever He wants to speak it to, unfiltered, 100% real time. And I have to say ahead of time, I don't know who God is going to speak directly to and on what day and on which topic, I just have a solid conviction that I'm supposed to do it live and I want to be obedient and available to serve.

I feel like we can expect great things from Him. Matthew 18:20 says For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." And we are two or more together.

Beware of Scams & Scammers

THERE ARE SCAMS AND SCAMMERS OUT THERE. DO NOT give any money to anyone who says they are me. It's a lie. They are not me. DO NOT give anyone money who says they work with me or says they are my assistant. I do not have an assistant who speaks to people about money.

I only meet with clients face to face to establish a new investment relationship. So unless you're sitting in my office or I'm sitting at your kitchen table, or if you are on a video call with me, DO NOT open an account or invest with someone who says they're me. You may even see someone in the comments pretending to be me and answering your questions. It's not me. They are scammers. I will only address questions or comments on live videos or through my website, through my email address.

Why do I push Sharing, Likes, Comments, and Subscribing so much?

THE ALGORITHM... One last, very important, thing to go over. If you feel like the information in these videos is valuable in any way, the ONLY WAY to spread the info and for more people to see it is through YOU. And there is so much truth out there in all three of these areas but it's shrouded by lies, so it’s important to get each video as far out there as possible.

There’s a list of things that wake up and ignite the algorithm on these platforms so the videos are more widely seen.

The more Comments a video has, the more "popular" the algorithm will think the video content is. Therefore those are the ones that get pushed out in front of people. The more Likes and Shares a video has, the more it gets out there in front.

The more Subscribers a channel has, the more it gets pushed out front.
